OSHA COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY PROGRAMMING
Accident costs and ever-increasing penalties for safety and health regulatory violations must be controlled to protect corporate assets and profit. Health Index, Inc. offers a wide range of health and safety management services to assist clients in controlling these costs and successfully manages exposures. A unique blend of programs and services helps our clients achieve their goals and implement successful health and safety programs. Some of the services offered by Health Index include:
Safety Compliance Audits
Focus on key safety management and regulatory compliance issues, which will have the greatest impact on the success of your safety program. Audits are conducted on-site at your facility to identify safety and health hazards, along with potential OSHA violations that can be corrected prior to an OSHA inspection.
Industrial Hygiene and Safety Surveys
Identification and evaluation of physical and chemical hazards in the workplace. Recommendations for proper control methods to reduce the risk of personnel injury and illness to maintain a safe and healthier work environment. This includes air sampling for various airborne contaminants, area noise surveys, and personnel noise dosimetry. Ventilation studies may also be conducted upon request.
Safety Program Development and OSHA Compliance Assistance
Development of written programs, complete equipment and/or chemical inventories, provide guidance on specific regulatory issues, or present training.
Injury and Workers Compensation Claim Management Programs
Development of effective systems to communicate with physicians and injured workers to return to work as soon as possible, and thus reduce accident costs. This service can include identification and development of modified work duty to aid in the progression or returning to regular work assignment.
Record Keeping Analysis
Health Index will review record keeping systems and practices to assess the level of compliance with OSHA requirements. Training shall be provided to your staff on OSHA's requirements to bring records in compliance.
Job Safety Analysis
The focus of this program shall be to conduct a Job Safety Analysis as needed or provide training on how to conduct such an analysis.
Air Sampling Analysis
Collection of air and other samples using state-of-the-art equipment and analytical methods to measure employee exposures to chemical, biological, and physical occupational health hazards shall be the focus.
Indoor Air Quality Services
Health Index shall conduct a baseline survey, which includes a walk-through investigation, interviews with affected employees, and a review of the HVAC system. This service may further include the need to survey for potential chemical contaminants.
OSHA Compliance Training
On-site, company-specific training for bloodborne pathogens confined space entry; Health Index shall conduct hazard communication, chemical hygiene respiratory protection, and personal protective equipment.
Ergonomic Training
Health Index shall provide a training program that aids in the development and implementation of an effective ergonomic program. Successful ergonomic intervention strategies may be presented in the "train-the-trainer" format, to ergonomic committee members, or directly to hourly employees. Concepts presented include definition and identification of risk factors, feasible interventions and manners by which to implement them, the importance or working together as a team to achieve success, and the use of outcome tracking to determine progress.
Injury Prevention
All injury prevention programs are comprehensive and customized to meet the needs of the company. A variety of injury prevention programs are available, including back injury, cumulative trauma, stress management and wellness. Programs are aimed at enhancing worker's awareness of their responsibility in safe work habits and best lifestyle habits. A variety of presentation formats are available. Health Index can provide customized written instructional materials for all in-house educational programs.
Early Intervention
This specific program shall identify signs of cumulative trauma. It is designed to decrease lost work time by utilizing appropriate exercise, stretches and/or change of work habits. It further determines the need for appropriate occupational safety and health actions.
